Sub-Categories
You may wish to create recipe sub-categories within major categories. For example, a major category may be "Desserts," with sub-categories for "Cakes," "Cookies," and "Pies."
If you want the names of your sub-categories to appear in your cookbook, you need to select the Sub-Category Designer Option on the Order Form. You also need to clearly label each Sub-Category; we recommend placing a separate sheet of paper with the Sub-Category name at the beginning of each sub-category within your recipes. Sub-Categories can be used with Standard or Custom Recipe Categories.
Recipe Notes
This Designer Option gives you the opportunity to further personalize your cookbook by placing interesting information with your recipe(s). This information could include, for example, (1) historical or anecdotal information pertaining to the recipe(s), (2) nutritional information or (3) information about the recipe contributor(s). Recipe Notes are limited to a maximum of three lines for each note. Refer to the Classic Recipe Format for an example of Recipe Notes.
Fillers*
If you have chosen the Recipes Not Continued format, a number of pages in your cookbook will most likely be only partially filled with recipe text. We can place small pieces of art or text in the white spaces as they occur in the typesetting process for a small additional charge. Because the number of spaces to fill are determined by the number and size of your recipes in their typeset form, we cannot predict how many spaces will be available for fillers.
*Available only with the Recipes Not Continued Designer Option.
TEXT FILLER
We will typeset your text fillers in a typestyle and size to complement your recipe format. We will use as many of your text fillers as space allows.
ART FILLER
We will use as many of your art fillers as space allows. Please refer to the Press-Ready Page Guidelines for more information. You can also download our Art Fillers and indicate to us which you would like to use.
